Wedding: A look into Rachel & Matts Elopement at The Wedding Niche

Writer: Virginia JohnstonVirginia Johnston

Rachel and Matt have been my clients for a few years before they contacted me with this amazing Elopement shoot. They had been engaged for a while and time, plus their growing family took priority over wedding planning. They had 3 kids together and the stress of incorporating them and inviting all their guests, finding a venue, reaching out to vendors, ALL the details...it was just too much and seemed to take away from what they wanted this to be about; them.

When Rachel contacted Lisa at The Wedding Niche, it was like a breathe of fresh air. Lisa could literally take care of everything. She has the most beautiful venue in Knoxville, MD and was the venue owner, a wedding planner AND officiant! Rachel told her that she would like to hire me for photography and my preferred vendors, Olivia (Videographer) Gina (Makeup artist) and Margo (Hair stylist) and together we created such an intimate and special day for her and Matt.

Lisa took care of finding their perfect elopement ceremony location at a beautiful spot along the Potomac River, followed by a romantic picnic and cake cutting in the woods behind her property.

Rachel and Matt got ready at Keep Tryst Manor on property and shared a special "first touch" and some short vows on the porch before their first look by the pond and willow tree. From there we took a short hike to the secret spot that Lisa found along the Potomac river and they made it official!

When we returned on property, they had their first dance and a champagne toast followed by cake cutting and an intimate picnic, just the two of them...exactly how they had envisioned their wedding to be; for them and about them.

Congratulations Rachel & Matt!
